St. Landry Jr. Leader’s are “Wild over Wetlands”

Every year the St. Landry Jr. Leader Club decides on a service-learning project. The club then works on this project for an entire year by educating, serving and reflecting on the specific cause. This year the club decided to focus on Wetlands.

The club is very excited about this project and all of the members have become involved. So far, we have created an exhibit on Louisiana’s perishing wetlands, educated the 4-H’ers in our parish on this topic, participated in Acorns of Hope and are planning a tour of the Atchafalaya Basin Swamp and National Wetlands Research Center. Our trip this summer will include a beach sweep and marsh grass planting on the Gulf of Mexico coast.
